Recent video installations have involved a return to an examination of landscape, time, and vision.

Daniel McGrath: What Pictures Want
What: What Pictures Want is an ongoing series of text based paintings based on W.J.T. Mitchell’s hypothesis that pictures must be considered living things that communicate and have desires, as outlined in his essay “What Do Pictures Want?” from 2005. These paintings' desires in short, are to trade places with the beholder turning him or her into an image for the gaze of the picture. A generic font and an anonymous value scale of black and white, both are nearly ubiquitous in our visual landscape today. Zeroing in on some of the more outrageous statements made in these books, each painting conveys a statement in the form of a dryly written vinyl didactic panel.

Pump Boys and Dinettes comes to Lindenwood!
What: Bear Stage kicks off its inaugural season as the Professional Theatre Company in Residence at Lindenwood University with Pump Boys and Dinettes, a musical tribute to life by the roadside on Highway 57. Somewhere between Frog Level and Smyrna, there stands a gas station. Across the blacktop is a roadside eatery called the Double Cupp Diner. The four guys at the station have been known to do some auto repairs, but only when aided by quantities of time and beer. The Cupp sisters celebrate their home cooking with the same zeal they bring to being neighborly with the boys. Pump Boys and Dinettes is part country-rock concert and part musical theatre; the sort of show that feeds off the energy and pleasure of its audience, celebrating life and love in a small, southern town.
