Free Tax Clinic  
What: Harris-Stowe State University and the Anheuser-Busch School of Business proudly announces its free tax clinic, from February 1-April 15, 2010. The free tax service is extended to any and everyone interested in having their 2009 taxes prepared by certified volunteers, under the supervision of Quintin Davis, CPA, accounting instructor at Harris-Stowe, and Owolabi Tiamiyu, assistant professor of business administration. Additional CPAs will be on hand to advise. While the HSSU tax clinic is open to everyone, it uniquely caters to international individuals and families, the elderly and low-to-moderate income households. Those who have a household income of $50,000 or less will be given priority service.

St. Patrick's Day Parade & Run
What: The Parade starts at Market & 18th, proceeds east on Market to Broadway and then south on Broadway to Busch Stadium. We expect over 300,000 parade goers this year. The Run starts on Broadway at the site of the proposed Ball Park Village, then proceeds north on Broadway & winds through the streets of downtown, finally culminating with a 500 meter downhill sprint to the finish at approximately Market and Broadway. The run is 5 miles long and we expect over 10,000 runners this year. The Dinner is the official kickoff to the events of the Parade weekend. At the dinner we introduce our visiting dignitaries from Ireland and the United States. You can attend the dinner by visiting our website and making reservations.

Mason Hollow Maple Syrup Tapping  
What: Take a trip out to Mason Hollow in Grafton and see how maple trees are tapped, sap collected and cooked down to syrup. Mason Hollow is the only public maple syrup sugarbush in the Alton region. Sap runs are totally dependent on Mother Nature. Freezing nights and warm days are needed for the sap to be running at its best. Kemp Auto Museum Austin-Healy Exhibit
What: The Kemp Auto Museum is proud to have been selected by the Gateway Austin-Healey Club to present a display in the Museum beginning in February, 2010. Austin-Healey automobiles from various St. Louis area collectors, ranging from the model first produced in 1953 to the last model produced in 1967, will be displayed in two groups. The first group will be on display from February 21 through March 13, 2010. The second group of collectors' cars will then arrive and be on display at the Kemp Auto Museum through April 4, 2010. The Museum will also host an “All Austin-Healey” Show on their outdoor Sachs Plaza on Sunday, May 16, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., with cars and collectors participating from across Missouri, as well as from nearby states.

A Night at the Museum

Garrison Weekend

2010 Confluence Trash Bash  
What: Volunteers are needed to help clean-up at the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge and sites along the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers as well as at Watkins Creek, Maline Creek, Cold Water Creek and Creve Coeur Creek. This is a great way for School groups, service organizations, church and corporate groups, families and interested individuals to get involved. These groups will be working with area Stream Teams and over 60 municipalities in St. Louis and St. Louis County. Online registration coming soon. Multi-County Beef Seminar

Nature Play
What: Connecting children to nature has beneficial effects on a child’s health and development. As children continue to spend less time outdoors, they lose touch with the natural world. “Nature play” programs reconnect children to nature and give them an opportunity to learn while making new discoveries, observations and adventures! The program is for ages Pre-K through 2nd grade. Pre-registration is required to attend.

Kids ArtStart
What: The Rep hosts Kids ArtStart, a free art event, on the first Saturday of each month from October through April. Each Kids ArtStart event gives young children an introduction to the arts in an event that allows families to share the arts experience. Each event takes place at the Loretto-Hilton Center in Webster Groves with local arts organizations and members of the artistic community partnering in the presentations.
